Town Hall on Land Regularisation Draws Sharp Questions in Epe

A town hall on land regularisation at the Epe civic centre drew several hundred residents, many holding family conveyances dating back decades but no registered title.
Lands Bureau officers walked through the regularisation route: verification of the parcel's status, survey, application, assessment and issuance.
Questions turned repeatedly to cost and time. Residents asked why assessments varied between parcels on the same street and how long applications sit at each stage.
Officials committed to a published fee schedule and a tracking reference for each application, and agreed to hold clinics at ward level rather than requiring trips to Alausa.
Community leaders asked that any enforcement action in the audit zones wait until the regularisation clinics have run through every ward.
