Nineteen crews raced the lagoon in a revival the town hopes will become an annual fixture.

Nineteen crews from Epe, Ejinrin and Ijede raced on the lagoon as the Epe boat regatta returned after more than a decade without a full staging.
Organisers put attendance in the thousands, with viewing stands along the waterfront and an evening cultural programme at the town square.
Crews raced in traditional paddled canoes across three classes, with a heritage category reserved for boats built by local yards.
The traditional council has asked the state to fix the regatta in the tourism calendar so that hotels and transport operators can plan around it.
