A cold chain storage block has broken ground at the Epe fish market, the first phase of a modernisation plan for a market that supplies fish across Lagos.
Traders currently lose a significant share of each day's catch to spoilage, particularly during transport delays on the expressway.
The market association says it negotiated for stall owners to retain their existing positions through construction, with temporary sheds provided on the flank of the site.
