The Lagos State government has awarded phase two of the Lekki–Epe Expressway dualisation, covering the section from Eleko junction through Poka to the Epe roundabout.

The scope includes service lanes on both flanks, box culverts at four crossings, street lighting and dedicated laybys for commercial buses that currently stop in live traffic.

Contractors are expected to work in half-width sections to keep one carriageway open, a method chosen after complaints about full closures during phase one.

The ministry says utility ducts will be laid in the same trenching operation to avoid future excavation of fresh asphalt.
