Lekki–Epe Expressway Expansion Crosses Halfway Mark on Epe-Bound Section

Work on the Epe-bound section of the Lekki–Epe Expressway expansion has passed the halfway mark, with asphalt laid across several stretches between Eleko and Poka.

The expansion is the spine of the corridor's transport plan, linking the Lekki Free Zone, the deep sea port and the industrial clusters at Ibeju-Lekki to Epe town and onward to Ijebu-Ode.

Commuters report shorter peak-hour journeys on completed sections, though diversions around active worksites still create long queues on market days.

Engineers on site say drainage and service ducts are being laid alongside the carriageway to avoid the repeated excavation that damaged earlier road projects in the area.
