Stall Redevelopment Begins at Oluwo as Traders Move to Temporary Rows

Redevelopment of the wet section at Oluwo fish market has begun, replacing timber platforms with washable concrete slabs, graded drainage and covered rows.

Traders have moved into temporary rows on the market's northern flank for the duration of the works, retaining their allocated positions on return.

Market leaders negotiated a fixed schedule of stall fees for the construction period after concerns that temporary trading would come with new charges.

The works are the second phase of a modernisation programme that began with cold storage.
